Description:
Sodium sulfate anhydrous 99% is an inorganic salt that appears as white monoclinic crystalline or powder. It is soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is alkaline. It is soluble in glycerol but insoluble in ethanol. It is hygroscopic and readily absorbs three molecules of water in humid air. Its melting point is approximately 800°C.

1. It is used to produce sodium sulfide, pulp, glass, sodium silicate, and enamel. It is also used as a laxative and an antidote for barium salt poisoning.
2. It is a by - product in the production of hydrochloric acid from common salt and sulfuric acid. In the chemical industry, it is used to manufacture sodium sulfide, sodium silicate, etc. In laboratories, it is used to wash away barium salts.
3. It is mainly used as a filler for synthetic detergents.
4. It enables the more rapid formation of the hydration product calcium sulfoaluminate, thus accelerating the hydration and hardening rate of cement.
5. It is used as an analytical reagent, such as a dehydrating agent, a digestion catalyst in nitrogen determination, and an interference inhibitor in atomic absorption spectrometry.
6. It is used in the chemical, papermaking, glass, dye, printing and dyeing, and pharmaceutical industries. It is also applied in the manufacturing of synthetic fibers, leather processing, non - ferrous metallurgy, and enamel. It is also used as an additive in detergents and soaps, and can be used as a buffer in sulfate galvanizing to stabilize the pH value of the plating solution.
