AMILAN™ Nylon resin is a thermoplastic engineering plastic containing an amide group (-CONH-) and it exhibits excellent strength, toughness, heat resistance, and anti-friction wear resistance.

Toray's lineup consists of Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 610 as well as a large number of co-polymer nylon formulations. In addition, a variety of grades designed for various customer needs and applications are available, including non-reinforced, reinforced, flame retardant, anti-friction wear, high impact, film, monofilament, and blow molding grades.

    Nylon 6 and Nylon 66

    • Features an excellent balance of properties in terms of mechanical behavior.
    • Features superior toughness under standard humidity conditions.
    • Features superior chemical and oil resistance.
    • Features superior anti-abrasion and wear resistance.
    • The self-extinguishing and flame retardant properties of almost all grades conforms with UL standard 94V0.
    • Features superior long-term heat resistance (maximum long-term continuous use temperature: approximately 80~150ºC)
    • Grades that are reinforced with glass fibers are particularly outstanding in terms of their elastic modulus and strength.
    • Features low gasoline permeability and superior gas barrier properties.

    Nylon 610

    • Features excellent flexibility as well as impact resistance at low temperatures.
    • Features relatively minimal absorbency and excellent dimensional stability.

      Properties :Moderate to good mechanical, thermal properties with smooth surface finish for warp free molding.

      Flame Retardant Grades

      Properties : Unfilled FR grades possess moderate strength, anti dripping, properties. But combination of FR and glass filled possess combination of good mechanical/thermal properties. FR from 0.8mm thick parts, Moderate mechanical strength with low warp molding.

      Self Lubrication Grades : MoS2 filled, Graphite filled, PTFE filled, MoS2 filled Reinforced

      Products : Parts which requires self lubrication and can not be greased in the applications like Gears, Sleeves, Actuators, Clutches.

      Properties: Dry lubrication for anti-friction & improved wear resistance. Low co-efficient of friction.

      Properties : Very High impact strength, Excellent chemical resistance, High elongation, Low density. Up to no break at room temp and high impact at -40'C.

      Modification Types

      • Glass fiber - When polyamides are added with glass fillers their stiffness can compete with metals. Hence, they are considered in metal replacement projects.

      • Carbon fiber - Adding carbon fiber may increase the strength, rigidity and dimensional stability of polyamides.

      • Carbon black - Carbon black fillers improve resistance to wear, UV, and electrical conductivity of polyamides.

      • Aramid fiber - Reinforcing with aramid fiber contributes to extreme tensile strength and heat resistance limiting creep.

      • Mineral fillers - Talc and calcium carbonate increase the stiffness and heat deflection temperatures of polyamides. This reduces the cost but tend to decrease strength and toughness.

      • PTFE - Provide solid lubricant properties and low coefficient of friction for bearings, gears, and other sliding applications while enhancing chemical resistance.

      • MOS2 - Similar to PTFE, molybdenum disulfide powder provides the same performance. Additionally, they are self-lubricating in parts like bushings.
