However, it has some limitations such as low impact resistance, hydroscopicity, and poor flame-retardancy. To overcome these drawbacks, PBT can be modified in several ways to enhance its performance and widen its scope of applications.
 

Reinforcement Modification

Glass-fiber reinforced PBT (GF-PBT) is a widely used modified PBT that enhances its strength, rigidity, and toughness. Depending on the application, the fiber content can range from 10% to 50%, resulting in materials suitable for automotive, electronic, and power tool industries. Flame-retardant Modification
