ABS is a copolymer of styrene, acrylonitrile and butadiene latex. It has better heat resistance and solvent resistance than HIPS and has gloss. Since the nitrile group of acrylonitrile has a strong polarity, it can enhance the interaction of molecular chains in PS, so the impact strength, tensile strength and surface hardness of plastic parts are better than HIPS. Generally, the higher the proportion of acrylonitrile, the better its heat resistance, rigidity and solvent resistance, but the worse its fluidity and the yellow base color of the plastic. Its mechanical properties and dimensional stability are very good during injection molding. Based on the above advantages, ABS resin has become an excellent engineering plastic.
